Tunnel east-to-west 82′ (25m) below the city for 16.8 miles (27km) and contains 27 stations.
Project Requirements
- Open pit tunnel straight and curved areas
- 2 stages
- First stage, gable walls total length 1,640′ (500 m)
- Second Stage – 3,660 yd³ (2,800 m³) of concrete to create the 492′ (150 m) long crown

- The PLATE GIRDERS® created a beam that allowed the 16.5 ton (15 tonne) traveler to be supported and moved on rollers
