Akumal Paramount Living is a 67-unit, 10-floor residential building in San Pedro Garza García, in Northwest Mexico, surrounded by beautiful views of the Chipinque mountains. Metric Development Group, and the well-known architecture office of Sordo Madaleno developed this 48,000 m² (520,000 ft2) building featuring varying floor heights. Fortezza Construcciones was awarded the contract for this architecturally outstanding construction project.

Architectural Concrete using PLATE GIRDER Formwork

Fortezza Construcciones recognized EFCO’s PLATE GIRDER® system as the ideal solution for achieving high-quality vertical pours in columns and elevator shafts. EFCO’s all-steel facesheets and single-line form joints enabled an architectural finish, ensured cost savings, and increased efficiency by eliminating concrete finishing. EFCO’s form release agent, formulated in partnership with Nox-Crete, contributed to the overall appearance by ensuring the as-struck concrete finish.

Assembly and Cycling of EFCO Formwork

EFCO PLATE GIRDER’s® large panel sizes reduced the number of form joints and ties, which streamlined the construction process by reducing errors during assembly because of fewer parts and pieces. Standard EFCO formwork components are designed for seamless connections using EFCO’s Quick Bolts, providing easy facesheet alignment without excessive adjustments. Fortezza Construcciones quickly assembled PLATE GIRDER into large gangs of approximately 6.6 m (21′-8″) long by 3.6 m (12′), improving cycle times between pours.
